Early Career Researcher Award

Julianne Wenner (Ph.D. ’13) is an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Foundational Studies in the College of Education at Boise State University, where she conducts research in elementary science education, teacher leadership, and science teacher education.

At the heart of Wenner’s scholarship are the goals of honoring all that teachers and learners bring to their environment and the field of education, and creating strategies and systems that will support teachers and learners in their educational and personal aspirations. Wenner’s research has been published in several top educational journals.

Early Career Practitioner Award

Carla Sutton Moore (Ph.D. ’12) is a licensed psychologist and professional counselor who has worked in the field of mental health for over 22 years. She completed her postdoctoral fellowships at Emory University School of Medicine and the City of Atlanta Psychological Services and Employee Assistance Program.

Currently, Moore is the assistant director of outreach services at the Georgia Institute of Technology's Counseling Center. She oversees campus outreach and suicide prevention programming and collaborates with the dean of student life, as well as campus partners, on outreach service needs. Additionally, she is the clinical director of Moore to Life Counseling and Consulting, LLC.
